“We are all home after what can only be described as an incredible Feile journey where friends and memories have been made for a lifetime. The dedication, driveand passion that our U14 girls team have shown throughout this year is admirable & I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to represent Hertfordshire. Playing in Ireland, the girls won 3 out of their 5 matches which saw them in the shield semifinal against a very strong St.John Bosco GAC who took the win. The girls played their hearts out throughout the whole tournament, stayed positive & driven and never once dropped their heads.
I would like to say a massive thank you to our hosts Knockbride, Co.Cavan – KnockbrideLadies Gaa – who made us feel so welcomed, looked after our girls and truly made our time with them very special. Thank you for all your time, efforts and everything that was organised and provided for the girls and us. Thank you too to the organisers of Feile. The efforts were truly reflected in the organisation and structure of the whole weekend.
Thank you to the parents for all your time & support throughout. Thank you too to all our sponsors for our kit, to everyone who donated towards the trip, our coach drivers and to the coordinators who helped throughout.
The biggest thank you to our girls who represented our county beautifully. The respect, attitudes, manners, determination, support, sportsmanship and dedication to the team has been inspiring throughout. They have set the foundations for Feile and county team development within Hertfordshire, one which we will continue to build on. I couldn’t be more prouder to manage and coach this team. The first girls U14 Hertfordshire team, All Britain winners and into the semi final shield in their first Feile is some achievement and one each & every one of our girls should be so proud of. It has been a magical journey one that truly reflects the positive development of Gaelic Football within our county.”
